The Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council (INIC) serves as the Permanent Secretariat of the International Nano Olympiad (INO), playing a pivotal role in organizing and managing this prestigious global competition. Established to foster innovation and collaboration in the field of nanotechnology, INIC has been instrumental in driving the vision and execution of the INO since its inception.

Vision and Mission

INIC’s mission is to advance the field of nanotechnology by encouraging scientific excellence, promoting entrepreneurship, and facilitating international cooperation. By hosting the INO, INIC aims to provide a platform for young innovators and researchers to showcase their talents, collaborate with global experts, and address some of the world's most pressing environmental and technological challenges.

Role and Responsibilities

As the Permanent Secretariat, INIC is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the INO.

This includes:

  • Strategic Planning: Developing long-term strategies to ensure the growth and sustainability of the Olympiad.
  • Event Management: Overseeing the logistical aspects of the competition, from venue selection and accommodation to scheduling and transportation.
  • Educational Programs: Organizing workshops and training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of participants in various aspects of nanotechnology.
  • International Collaboration: Facilitating communication and cooperation between participating countries, institutions, and stakeholders.
  • Judging and Evaluation: Establishing criteria and processes for fair and transparent judging of projects, ensuring the highest standards of evaluation.

Achievements

INIC has successfully organized multiple editions of the INO, attracting teams from around the world and fostering a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. The first INO, held in Tehran in 2018, set a high standard for future competitions, with participants engaging in workshops, technical presentations, and collaborative projects focused on real-world applications of nanotechnology.

Executive Secretariat

The Executive Secretariat is managed by the host countries of the Olympiad, supporting the Permanent Secretariat in the detailed execution of the INO.

This includes:

  • Operational Management: Handling the day-to-day operations of the Olympiad, from participant registration to event scheduling.
  • Training and Mentorship: Providing mentorship and support to participating teams through both online and in-person training sessions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging with sponsors, partners, and international bodies to secure support and funding for the Olympiad.
  • Promotional Activities: Ensuring the event receives adequate media coverage and global visibility through various channels, including websites and social media.
