Who are the INO Teams?
The participating teams, each consisting of up to four members and one supervisor, have been carefully selected through national competitions in each country. The selection process ensures that only qualified individuals who meet strict criteria represent their respective countries. Each country has also nominated one Jury member, subject to approval by the INO steering committee.
Team Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Academic Status: Team members must be university students at the undergraduate, graduate, or PhD level.
  • Nationality and Insurance: Participants need to hold a passport from their home country and be insured for health, travel, and accidents by their national insurance providers.
  • Expertise: A solid background in nanoscience, nanotechnology, or business-related fields is mandatory.
  • Innovation: Teams are expected to bring forth innovative ideas with significant potential to enhance product or service development in line with the annually selected INO topics.
  • Official Endorsement: Registration is exclusive to teams officially introduced by credible institutions such as universities or research centers, with full endorsement from all steering committee members.
Supervisors: The Guiding Force
Each team is supported by a supervisor appointed by the participating country. The supervisor, fluent in English and with a robust background in nanotechnology or business (either as an assistant professor or a senior business executive), acts as the primary liaison with the host country. They ensure that their teams adhere to all regulations and effectively engage with the event's activities.
Financial Responsibilities:
  • Travel Costs: The local national committee or the endorsing institution covers the international travel expenses for participants.
  • Host Economy Provisions: Once in Malaysia, the host country will provide transportation, accommodation, meals, and recreational activities. However, participants are responsible for their medical and visa costs.
The 2nd INO promises to be a melting pot of talent, innovation, and international collaboration. Stay tuned as we bring you more updates and insights into the teams and their groundbreaking projects set to transform the future of nanotechnology.
