Awards Announced for the 2nd International Nanotechnology Olympiad

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - The 2nd International Nanotechnology Olympiad (INO), set to take place from October 7th to 11th, 2024, in Malaysia, has announced the awards for its final stage. This authoritative event will recognize and celebrate the most innovative and impactful contributions in the field of nanotechnology from teams around the globe.

The awards for the INO are designed to acknowledge excellence in various critical aspects of nanotechnology development. The categories and corresponding awards are as follows:
  1. Most Novel and Highest Impact Idea:
    • This award will be granted to the team whose project presents the most groundbreaking and influential idea within the realm of nanotechnology.
  2. Best Project in Terms of Scientific and Technical Development:
    • This category will honor the team that excels in the scientific and technical aspects of their project, demonstrating superior research and development skills.
  3. Best Project in Terms of Business Development Aspects:
    • This award focuses on the commercial viability and business development potential of the project, recognizing the team that best integrates business acumen with scientific innovation.
  4. Best Total Score from the Three Aspects:
    • This prestigious award will go to the team that achieves the highest cumulative score across the categories of novel impact, scientific and technical development, and business development.
Each of the four winning teams will receive prizes ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 MYR (approximately 2,000 to 3,250 USD), a recognition of their exceptional work and contribution to the field of nanotechnology. The first team mentioned above will receive a prize of approximately 15,000 MYR (approximately 3260 USD), and the other three teams will receive a prize of around 10,000 MYR (approximately 2170 USD). In addition, all participating teams that do not win a main award will receive an official honorary diploma, acknowledging their efforts and participation in the Olympiad.
Moreover, during the event's demo day, all participant teams will have the opportunity to attract potential investors. This can lead to significant opportunities such as receiving seed funding for further development of their projects or even job offers to continue their innovative work.
The INO promises to be a landmark event, showcasing the highly-developed advancements in nanotechnology and fostering collaboration and innovation among the brightest minds in the field.
