Reinforcement of Water related Constructions

In this module you will learn about water and wastewater treatment structures and methods reinforcing them by nanotechnology.

Constructions and infrastructures in water and wastewater systems are of prime significance. High strength, satisfactory resistance to corrosion, chemicals and fluid movement, excellent erosion and self-cleaning are some of the main properties of pools, pipes, sewage path and walls of the wells structures. In addition, using functionalized materials in construction can improve the treatment process.

The nanotechnology not only improves the building materials such as cements or steels, but also produces new structures such as nanocomposites which have suitable properties for this application.
