In this module you will learn about sensing and monitoring of contaminants.

Water is often contaminated through different ways: processes involved in industries and laboratories, oil pollutants, pollutants present in air and soil, and civil wastewater. In addition, the distribution systems can pollute water resources. Some contaminants may evidently change color, smell, taste or transparency of water, but others cannot be easily observed with no precise characterization. Hence, it is necessary to continually monitor water quality and prevent spreading unwanted and detrimental contaminants in water. The nanotechnology presents fast, precise and portable detecting methods for different types of contaminants.
